Arunachal CM Lays Foundation Stone For New Skill Development Centre In Naharlagun

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Saturday laid the foundation stone for a new G+2 RCC Skill Development Multi-purpose Building at the Oju Welfare Association (OWA) in Naharlagun. The ceremony was held in the presence of OWA Chairperson Smt Ratan Anya.

The new facility is expected to provide training opportunities for youth and women, helping them develop skills, gain confidence, and enhance their employment prospects.

During his visit, CM Khandu also inspected several units on the OWA campus, including the Cutting-cum-Tailoring Training Centre, where he interacted with trainees, and the Kitchen-cum-Dining Hall. He observed the Weaving and Product Finishing Unit, which supports women in generating income through traditional crafts.

The Chief Minister also visited Shakti Sadan, a short stay home for women in distress, and the Special Needs Unit, which provides tailored care for children with special requirements. Additionally, he toured the Free Legal Aid Clinic operated jointly by the Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) and OWA, aimed at making legal assistance more accessible.

The visit concluded at the Ju Craft Centre Sales Emporium, a space promoting local creativity and economic opportunities.

CM Khandu acknowledged the efforts of OWA in empowering communities through skill development, education, and social support services.
