Itanagar, May 13: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday led the Tiranga Yatra at Walong, the easternmost frontier of the country, to pay tribute to the soldiers who laid down their lives during the 1962 India-China war.
The Yatra, organised ahead of the Cabinet Aapke Dwar programme, saw the participation of Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Cabinet ministers, local leaders, Army personnel, and members of the local community.
The march concluded at the Walong War Memorial, where floral tributes were offered to the fallen soldiers. The Chief Minister said the patriotic fervour at Walong served as a reminder of the courage and sacrifice of the Indian armed forces.
Deputy Chief Minister Mein also paid homage at the memorial and stated that the bravery of the 1962 war heroes continues to inspire future generations.
