Itanagar, Jan 21: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Wednesday extended greetings to the people of Meghalaya, Manipur and Tripura on the occasion of their respective Statehood Days.
In a post on X, Khandu said Meghalaya, which attained statehood in 1972, reflects harmony between nature and human life. He referred to the state’s Khasi, Jaintia and Garo heritage, democratic traditions and community values, describing it as the “Abode of Clouds.” He expressed hope that Meghalaya would continue to progress with ecological balance, cultural pride and inclusive development.
Extending greetings to Manipur, Khandu described the state as the “Jewel of India” and noted its ancient history, classical dance traditions, achievements in sports and resilient social fabric. He said the state holds an important place in India’s civilizational landscape and expressed hope for peace, unity, stability and prosperity.
Greeting the people of Tripura, the Chief Minister said the state represents India’s cultural diversity through its blend of ancient history, royal legacy, tribal traditions and modern aspirations. He also referred to Tripura’s progress in education, connectivity and social development, and expressed hope that it would continue on the path of growth while preserving its cultural identity.
