Pema Khandu chaired the 10th Steering Committee meeting of the Hydropower Department on Friday to review the status of ongoing and proposed hydropower projects in Arunachal Pradesh.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Government of India, the state government, district administrations, and central public sector undertakings including NHPC Limited, North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited, THDC India Limited, SJVN Limited and Power Grid Corporation of India Limited. Independent power producers such as Athena Energy Ventures, Greenko Group, Demwe Power Private Limited and Navayuga Engineering Company Limited also participated.

Officials reviewed projects at various stages to identify local issues, procedural challenges and administrative bottlenecks, with the aim of facilitating smoother implementation. The meeting also discussed the role of hydropower development in supporting energy generation, revenue and infrastructure growth in the state.
