Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday inaugurated the newly commissioned Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) LPG Bottling Plant at Papu Nallah in Naharlagun, Papum Pare district. The project marks a significant step toward strengthening Arunachal Pradesh’s energy infrastructure and promoting self-reliance in clean fuel supply.

Spread over 46,000 square meters, the state-of-the-art facility houses three LPG storage bullets with a total capacity of 87 metric tonnes and has the capability to refill up to 3,000 cylinders daily in a single shift. The plant is expected to ease the supply challenges faced by households and ensure a steady distribution of LPG across the state.

Addressing the inaugural function, Khandu congratulated IOCL and its project partner M/s B.A. Enterprises for completing the project efficiently and within a short timeframe. He said the new facility would bring major relief to more than 95 LPG agencies that had been relying on supplies from Assam following the closure of the Kimin plant.

Describing the project as an example of “Atma Nirbhar Arunachal in action,” the Chief Minister highlighted its role in promoting rural entrepreneurship and job creation. He also paid tribute to the late Bamang Raman, founder of M/s B.A. Enterprises, whose vision made the project possible, and commended his wife, Bamang Amer, for her determination in completing the plant after his passing earlier this year.

“The commissioning of this plant reflects the entrepreneurial spirit of Arunachal Pradesh and the government’s commitment to ensuring ease of living for its citizens,” Khandu said. He encouraged young entrepreneurs to take inspiration from Amer’s leadership and reaffirmed the government’s support for local enterprises.

With the new IOCL LPG Bottling Plant now operational, Arunachal Pradesh moves closer to achieving energy self-sufficiency, better service delivery, and sustainable industrial growth.
