Arunachal CM Pema Khandu Meets Governor To Discuss ‘Rising Northeast’ Initiative

Itanagar, May 30: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu met Governor Lt General KT Parnaik (Retd.) at Raj Bhavan in Itanagar to discuss the outcomes of the recently concluded ‘Rising Northeast’ Investors Summit 2025.

Organised by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), the two-day summit was held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from May 23 to 24. During the event, the Arunachal Pradesh government signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth ₹6,357 crore with 16 investors across various sectors.

Governor Parnaik commended the initiative, describing it as a turning point for the economic development of the Northeast. He congratulated Chief Minister Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein for their efforts in securing investment and urged the state to explore further avenues for growth and collaboration.

The Governor also emphasised the need to focus on youth engagement, skill development, and entrepreneurship as key components of long-term progress.

Chief Minister Khandu shared insights from the summit and highlighted the encouraging response from industry leaders, stating that several of the investment proposals are already moving towards implementation.
