Itanagar, Aug 5: Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday launched a pilot digital water bill payment system in the Itanagar Capital Region, marking a significant step toward digitising public utility services in Arunachal Pradesh.

The new system enables residents to pay their water bills online, aiming to reduce long queues and manual processes. “For the people in Itanagar Capital Region, paying a water bill no longer means taking half a day off work or standing in a long queue. Now, it’s just a few taps on a phone, a few clicks on a screen,” Khandu said.

The state government plans to expand the service to other districts in phases as part of its broader digital governance initiatives.
