Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu unveiled a statue of Swami Vivekananda in Kaho, the easternmost village of India, in a ceremony attended by cabinet colleagues, Rupesh Mathur of VKAP Trust, Vivekananda Kendra Vice President Hanumantrao, VKV alumni, and local residents.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that the installation of Swamiji’s statue in Kaho is a tribute to his ideals of strength, service, and spiritual awakening. “The presence of the statue in this remote frontier village signifies that Swamiji’s message has reached the last mile of Bharat,” he said, quoting the saint’s words: “Arise, awake and stop not till the goal is reached.”
He also lauded the role of Vivekananda Kendra in providing value-based education in Arunachal Pradesh, especially in border regions. He said the statue would serve as a source of inspiration for future generations and promote a sense of patriotism rooted in the development of villages, people, and cultural values.
