Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Wednesday unveiled the Universal Compassion Football Trophy 2025 at Jang, expressing inspiration drawn from the life and teachings of the 14th Dalai Lama.

Sharing the announcement on his official Facebook page, Khandu stated that the tournament is a tribute to the Dalai Lama’s vision of compassion and unity. As part of the inaugural event, an exhibition match between Monyul FC and Ganchen FC was held, drawing an enthusiastic response from spectators and marking the beginning of the tournament’s journey.
