Arunachal Deputy CM Chowna Mein Joins High-Level Delegation In Colombo For Buddha Relics Return

Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein arrived in Colombo on Monday alongside Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Chhaganbhai Patel to oversee the return of the Holy Devnimori relics of Lord Buddha from Sri Lanka.

The delegation was received by Sri Lanka’s Deputy Minister of Mass Media Dr. Kaushalya Ariyarathne and Acting High Commissioner Dr. Satyanjal. The relics are scheduled to return to India on February 11.

Deputy CM Mein described the occasion as a sacred and historic event with profound spiritual, cultural, and civilisational significance for the nation and for millions of Buddhists worldwide. He expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for nominating him to be part of the delegation.
