Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein participated in the International Yoga Day celebrations held on Saturday at the Golden Pagoda (Kongmu Kham) in Namsai. The event was organised by the 4 Madras Regiment of the Indian Army, Tezu, in collaboration with the District Administration and other line departments.
Taking to his official X handle, Chowna Mein expressed his happiness in being part of the event and highlighted the significance of yoga in daily life. “Having practised yoga for over 25 years, I can say with conviction that its physical, mental, and psychological benefits are profound. Yoga nurtures inner balance, instills discipline, and promotes holistic well-being,” he said, adding that yoga should become a way of life for all.
He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his visionary leadership in bringing yoga to the global stage through the celebration of International Yoga Day.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from Minister Dasanglu Pul, MLA Chau Zingnu Namchoom, ZPC Nang Urmila Mancheykhun, Deputy Commissioner C.R. Khampa, Commandant of 186 Bn CRPF Dharmender Kumar Singh, Colonel Rajat Bhatia, BJP District President Ningroo Ong Maio, officials from various departments, PRI leaders, jawans of 4 Madras and 186 CRPF, and local students.
