David Angu, a folk singer from Arunachal Pradesh, has been honoured with the India International Influencer Award (IIIA) in Dubai. Angu is recognized for his work in preserving and promoting the state’s traditional folk music, connecting audiences across India and internationally.
Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh congratulated Angu for taking the state’s music to the global stage.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu said folk music reflects the soul of a community, carrying its stories and traditions across generations. He added that Angu, through his voice, guitar, and compositions, has brought Arunachal Pradesh’s cultural heritage to international audiences, and the award is a recognition of his efforts to preserve and globalize the state’s folk traditions.
