The Arunachal Tug of War Association (ATWA) is set to host the 3rd State Level Jambey Tashi Memorial Tug of War Championship 2026 at the Aalo General Ground in West Siang district from May 1 to 3. The event, organized in collaboration with the West Siang District Tug of War Association, the West Siang District Olympic Association, and the district administration, will feature outdoor competitions in senior men, women, and mixed categories, with weight limits fixed at 620 kg, 500 kg, and 580 kg respectively.
State Minister for Law, Legislative, Justice, Social Justice, Empowerment & Tribal Affairs and Sports & Youth Affairs, Kento Jini, will grace the occasion as Chief Guest, while Aalo West MLA Topin Ete will attend as Guest of Honour. The championship carries attractive cash prizes, including ₹50,000 for winners, ₹25,000 for runners-up, ₹10,000 for the discipline team, and ₹20,000 for the overall champion.
The tournament is being held in memory of former MLA Lt. Jambey Tashi, whose contributions to the state are fondly remembered. The championship is expected to draw spirited participation and highlight the growing enthusiasm for tug of war in Arunachal Pradesh.
