Itanagar, March 17: Arunachal Pradesh Governor KT Parnaik on Tuesday urged making the state’s administration more efficient, transparent, and citizen-friendly through sweeping reforms.

In a meeting with Arunachal Pradesh Administrative Reforms Commission (APARC) Chairman Pramod Jain, the Governor discussed measures to accelerate development and bolster governance. He advised the Commission to prioritize institutional and procedural changes that advance digital transformation and e-governance, an official report stated.

Parnaik advocated shifting to 100% online government payments, e-Office systems, and paperless transactions to hasten service delivery, enhance transparency, and combat corruption.

He also emphasized merit-based personnel management, calling for transparent processes in transfers, postings, and recruitment, with merit, integrity, and competence as core principles for public service.

Earlier, Jain assured the Governor that APARC would recommend broader technology adoption, simplified procedures, and robust grievance-redressal mechanisms to strengthen governance in the frontier state.
