Arunachal Governor KT Parnaik Honors 161 Scouts And Guides With Rajya Puraskar

Itanagar, Jan 16: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen KT Parnaik (retd) honored 161 scouts and guides with the prestigious Bharat Scouts and Guides Rajya Puraskar during a ceremony at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday. The awardees included 69 scouts and 92 guides, recognized for their exemplary dedication and service.

Governor Parnaik, who is the chief patron of the Bharat Scouts and Guides State Association, commended the recipients for their hard work, discipline, and commitment to community service. He emphasized that the Rajya Puraskar not only acknowledges their achievements but also reinforces their responsibility to continue their service with renewed enthusiasm.

Urging the scouts and guides to uphold the values of discipline, service, and patriotism, the Governor encouraged them to contribute to building a stronger and united India. He also lauded the Bharat Scouts and Guides State Association for its crucial role in shaping young minds into responsible citizens and future leaders.

The Governor called on school students to participate in the scouts and guides movement, describing it as an ideal platform for developing leadership skills, discipline, and a sense of responsibility.

“The nation stands on the shoulders of its youth,” Parnaik said, noting that scouts and guides exemplify the spirit of ‘nation first.’

The Bharat Scouts and Guides movement, which started in Pasighat in 1948 with just 24 boys, has grown significantly, now comprising 877 units across 439 schools with a total membership of 13,183.
