Agartala, June 04, 2026: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday said that the state government has taken concrete steps to address concerns related to illegal immigrants and unauthorized mosque structures, asserting that all identified cases have been dealt with through legal and administrative procedures.
Responding to issues raised earlier this year, Khandu stated that the government acted promptly and responsibly. On the matter of unauthorized mosque structures in the Capital Complex, he informed that 15 such structures had been identified. While 12 of them were sealed or vacated earlier, the remaining three have now also been sealed following the completion of due legal processes.
“Concerns were raised earlier this year regarding illegal immigrants and unauthorised mosque structures. The Government took prompt action on all these issues through the appropriate legal and administrative processes,” Khandu said.
He added, “On the issue of unauthorised mosque structures, 15 were identified in the Capital Complex. Of these, 12 were sealed or vacated earlier. The remaining three have now also been sealed after completion of due legal process. As such, all 15 identified cases have been addressed.”
Regarding illegal immigration, the Chief Minister said the issue continues to be pursued through consultations and an institutional mechanism to ensure a systematic and lawful approach.
“The issue of illegal immigrants is being pursued through consultations and an institutional mechanism. The Government has acted on every issue raised,” he said.
Khandu further appealed for maintaining normalcy and public order, emphasizing that with the government having already taken action and delivered results, any disruption of daily life would only cause inconvenience to ordinary citizens.
“At a time when concrete action has been taken and results delivered, any disruption of normal life serves little purpose and only inconveniences the public,” the Chief Minister added.
