Arunachal Pradesh Civil Aviation Minister Balo Raja has urged for the early restoration of air cargo services at the Donyi Polo Airport in Hollongi, which were temporarily halted after operations shifted to the new terminal building on September 4.
In a letter to Airport Director P. Narendra on Friday, Raja highlighted that the introduction of air cargo services had raised high expectations among the people, as it was seen as a key driver for the state’s economic growth.
He noted that many MSMEs from Arunachal Pradesh have registered to participate in the upcoming India International Trade Fair 2025, scheduled in New Delhi from November 14 to 27, and would benefit greatly from the cargo facility.
The minister also pointed out that the forthcoming local body elections in December would require air cargo services for the transportation of EVMs and other essential election materials to different parts of the state.
