Itanagar, Jan 17: Oil India Limited (OIL) has inaugurated its new office in Itanagar, marking a strategic step towards advancing energy initiatives in Arunachal Pradesh. The office, located within the CESHS campus, was inaugurated by the Minister of Women and Child Development, Science & Technology, in the presence of OIL’s Director (E&D) Saloma Yomdo, Secretary of Science & Technology Sumedha, and other distinguished officials.
The event emphasized the state’s potential for renewable energy projects, particularly geothermal energy. A key meeting between OIL and CESHS explored opportunities for geothermal energy development, focusing on sustainable energy solutions in the region.
Additionally, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy (IIPE), Visakhapatnam, and CESHS. The MoU aims to promote collaboration in areas such as Earth sciences, geothermal and hydrogen energy exploration, tunneling, and mineral technology.
The opening of the Itanagar office is part of OIL’s ongoing efforts to strengthen energy infrastructure in Arunachal Pradesh, contributing to both local economic development and India’s renewable energy objectives.
