Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has outlined an ambitious plan to position the state as a global leader in adventure tourism. Speaking at the 16th Annual Adventure Convention of the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) in Tawang, Khandu assured that the state government is focused on developing world-class infrastructure and sustainable tourism practices to attract adventure enthusiasts from across the globe.
Khandu highlighted key initiatives to promote tourism, including empowering local communities through homestays and skill development programs. He emphasized a “high value, low volume” tourism model to safeguard the state’s cultural heritage and environmental resources while leveraging its diverse ecosystems to boost tourism.
The Chief Minister also called for practical, state-specific recommendations from tourism stakeholders to unlock the full potential of Arunachal Pradesh’s tourism sector. He stressed that a collaborative approach would foster economic growth, environmental conservation, and the preservation of the state’s rich cultural identity.
Concluding his address, Khandu urged all stakeholders to unite in making Arunachal Pradesh the adventure tourism capital of India.
