Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Friday inaugurated the Botanical Garden at Noi Chenam Tengapani in Namsai, highlighting the state’s focus on biodiversity conservation and ecological awareness. The event was attended by HMLA Namsai Chau Zingnu Namchoom, Deputy Commissioner C.R. Khampa, and other officials.
The garden features thematic plant sections, zones for indigenous and rare species, medicinal plant areas, walking trails, interpretation and learning spaces, nursery facilities, and a cafeteria for visitors. It is expected to function as a centre for conservation, research, education, and community engagement.
Chowna Mein congratulated the Namsai Forest Division and the Department of Environment, Forest and Climate Change for their efforts in realizing the project and stressed the importance of preserving Arunachal Pradesh’s natural wealth for future generations.
