Itanagar, March 30: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Sunday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for launching the ‘Pride of Hills’ component under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme for 2026-27.

The Chief Minister said the initiative recognizes the challenges faced by hill states, including difficult terrain, limited accessibility, and constrained revenue sources. He noted that the ₹4,900 crore allocation to Arunachal Pradesh will support infrastructure development, capital investment, and key fiscal requirements, contributing to accelerated growth in the state.

Under SASCI 2026-27, the ‘Pride of Hills’ component provides additional support to hill states to address structural challenges and promote sustainable development.
