Itanagar, Feb 6: Kickboxers from Arunachal Pradesh brought home 10 medals, including 3 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze, from the 4th Wako Indian Open International Kickboxing Tournament 2025, which concluded in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The gold medalists from the state included Robin Deori, Tason Ekke, and Chamchak Mossang. Deori won his gold in the senior men’s below 67 kg low kick event, Ekke secured his in the junior boys’ below 52 kg kick light event, and Mossang triumphed in the senior women’s below 55 kg kick light event.
The silver medals were claimed by Kishor Thapa (low kick, senior men’s below 81 kg), Jipe Lombi (K1, senior men’s below 60 kg), Bishal Mura (low kick, senior men’s below 57 kg), and Sorita Shrestha (low kick, junior girls’ below 58 kg).
Bronze medals were won by Rantu Sonowal (low kick, senior men’s below 57 kg), Wangjoy Kungkho (kick light, junior boys’ below 57 kg), and Wanghim Ngaimong (low kick, senior men’s below 51 kg).
The Arunachal team was led by Charu Govin, General Secretary of the Kickboxing Association of Arunachal, who served as the chef de mission. The team was coached by Gopal Moran. Kickboxers from 10 countries participated in the tournament, organized by the Wako India Kickboxing Federation (WIKF).
