In a sustained anti-narcotics drive over the past one and a half months, Namsai Police arrested seven alleged drug peddlers and recovered around 75.86 grams of suspected heroin from multiple locations across the district.
The operations were led by the district’s Anti-Drug Squad under SDOP Kengo Dirchi and carried out under the supervision of the Superintendent of Police. Officials said the crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to curb the illegal drug trade and dismantle organised narcotics networks in Namsai.
Police have also started proceedings under the PIT NDPS Act against habitual offenders to prevent repeat offences.
