Itanagar, Jun 3 : The Arunachal Pradesh government has ordered the closure of 386 government schools across the state after these schools recorded zero student enrolment in the current academic year.

The directive, issued by the Education Department on Monday, followed an analysis of data from the Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE), which identified several schools that have remained non-functional for multiple years.

The move aims to rationalise educational infrastructure and ensure better utilisation of teaching staff and resources.
