Arunachal Pradesh: Sona Inaugurates ‘SAKSHAM’– An Innovative Centre For Empowering Young Minds At 5th IRBN Welfare

Itanagar, July 7: Education Minister P D Sona has inaugurated “Saksham” – an innovative Student Activity and Enrichment Centre – for the holistic development and empowering young minds , at Springdale 5th IRBn Welfare School,Pasighat, here today . The Saksham centre has been set up rooted in the ethos of activity based,play based and experiential learning aligning with the vision of the NEP 2020 and National Curriculum framework 2023 to nurture well rounded,curious and confident young learners.

Speaking as the Chief Guest on the occasion, Sona lauded the innovative initiative taken up by Commandant 5th IRBN ,Garima Singh,IPS and ably supported by her team of IRBN personnels, to provide an experiential learning environment for young students and engage young minds through creative, activity based, and new age learning methods.

He called for replicating such inspiring efforts in state ,while terming as best practices in education sector adding that it is the need of the hour today to develop curiousity and joy for learning among young students through such experiential learning methods in our schools. He also appreciated the gesture to open the centre to general public so that besides the children of 5th IRBn ,children of Pasighat and other schools in the district can also avail the facilties.

The Education Minister informed that the State Government is also set to introduce such integrated based learning methods at elementary level by clubbing pre -primary Govt.Schools with Anganwadi centres. He also spoke on need for more Space labs in Schools for creating interest in students for space technology.

Guest of Honour, Ruksin MLA ,Ninong Ering also commended Commandant 5th IRBN Garima Singh ,IPS and the entire 5th IRBN fraternity for successful culmination of innovative based centre in the district to empower our students and also advised the students to strive hard in their studies.

Earlier, Commandant 5th IRBN , Garima Singh,IPS, briefed on the various welfare oriented measures ,steps for imparting holistic and quality education in Springdale 5th IRBN Welfare School. The Commandant informed that SAKSHAM Centre is equipped with Digital learning zone, library,indoor games corner, creative learning area in drawing,music,craft and theatre, life skills on health,hygiene, traffic safety and value based education etc and also acknowledged the contributions of her team in the success of the project.

Pasighat MLA Tapi Darang, DC, Sonalika Jiwani, SP Pankaj Lamba ,DDSE Odhuk Tabing were also present among others.

Earlier, the Education Minister also interacted with the students of Springdale -5th IRBN Welfare School and appreciated the exhibition models put up by the students and also joined in plantation of saplings in the premises.
