Itanagar, August 14: To commemorate the 79th Independence Day, the Indian Army under the aegis of Gajraj Corps, in collaboration with the Civil Administration led by Thutan Wangchu, Assistant Commissioner, Thingbu Administrative Circle, and the Gorkhas stationed at Chuna, organized a patriotic ‘Tiranga March’ at 14,000 feet in the forward areas of Chuna.
Carrying a 100-meter-long National Flag, soldiers of the Indian Army, ITBP personnel, and villagers from Mago and Chuna marched shoulder-to-shoulder through the greenfield of Chuna. The event transformed the rugged Himalayan landscape into a vibrant sea of saffron, white, and green—rekindling the spirit of patriotism, integrity, and unity in the border regions.
Following the march, a cleanliness drive was undertaken to safeguard the fragile ecosystem of the area. The initiative promoted the District Administration’s campaign of maintaining the region as a ‘No Plastic Zone’, ensuring the preservation of local biodiversity, flora, and fauna.
The event stands as a symbol of collective resolve, showcasing the unwavering bond between the Armed Forces and the local communities in safeguarding the frontiers while upholding national pride.
