A 40-year-old woman, Yater Gamlin Potom, was seriously injured after being struck by a stray bullet fired by a minor in West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh, police said.
The boy allegedly stole a .22 bore rifle from his employer, a police sub-inspector, and was hunting birds when the bullet hit Potom in Aalo on Sunday evening. Both the minor and his employer are now in custody.
The victim, initially treated at Yomcha and Aalo, was later shifted to Dibrugarh in Assam with severe internal injuries. She is currently in the ICU, where doctors say her condition is stable.
