The Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) has raised concern over the increasing number of bars and nightclubs in the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) and called on the district administration and police to enforce strict regulations.
Led by chairperson Taga Yalem Burang, an APSCW delegation met with ICR Deputy Commissioner Toko Babu to address complaints that some establishments were allegedly employing adolescent girls and operating beyond permitted hours.
The commission warned that such practices could contribute to rising cases of HIV/AIDS and other social issues, urging local authorities to take immediate preventive and corrective actions.
