Arunachal’s Gumpe Rime Appointed As Goalkeeping Coach Of India U-23 Football Team

Gumpe Rime has been appointed as the Goalkeeping Coach of the India U-23 National Football Team for the upcoming Asia Football Cup U-23 qualifiers.

A former junior India goalkeeper, Rime hails from Aalo in West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh. He currently serves as the Head Goalkeeping Coach at the Reliance Foundation Young Champs Academy. Holding an AFC Pro License and an AFC Goalkeeping A Diploma, Rime brings vast experience and technical expertise to the national setup.

His coaching journey includes previous stints with various Indian age-group national teams, including the U-19 and U-23 squads. In addition to his coaching duties, he is also a coach educator for the AIFF and AFC, conducting C and B Diploma coaching courses as well as all AIFF/AFC-certified goalkeeping courses.

Rime began his professional football career with Mahindra United and later represented clubs such as Hindustan Aeronautics Limited SC, Salgaocar FC, Vasco SC, and Shillong Lajong FC.
