Arunachal’s Rupa Bayor Wins Gold At National Taekwondo Poomsae Championships

Rupa Bayor from Arunachal Pradesh secured the Gold Medal at the 4th Senior National Taekwondo Poomsae Championships in the Recognized Individual Poomsae – U30 category. Chief Minister Pema Khandu praised her achievement on social media, stating that her dedication and excellence have made the state proud.

Rupa has also made history by entering the top 10 of the World Taekwondo Poomsae Rankings, currently ranked 9th globally. Her rise in the rankings has been remarkable, moving from 123rd in 2021 to 42nd in 2022 and 12th in 2023. She is also ranked No. 1 in Asia, highlighting her position as one of the continent’s leading Taekwondo athletes.

This accomplishment underscores Rupa’s skill, perseverance, and dedication, bringing recognition to Arunachal Pradesh and inspiring a new generation of Indian Taekwondo athletes.
