Budget Session Of Arunachal Pradesh Assembly To Commence On July 19

The budget session of the Arunachal Pradesh assembly will begin on Friday, July 19, 2024, and is set to conclude on July 26, 2024. The annual financial statement for the 2024-25 fiscal year is scheduled to be presented on July 24, 2024.

This session marks the first budget of the Pema Khandu government following its re-election for a third term. The budget will be presented by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, who also holds the Finance and Planning portfolio.

The session will open with a motion of thanks to the governor’s address. Three significant government bills will be tabled on the opening day:

– The Arunachal Pradesh Amending Bill, 2024

– The Arunachal Pradesh Public Examination (Measures to Prevent Unfair Means in Recruitment) Bill, 2024

– The Balipara/Tirap/Sadiya Frontier Tract Jhum Land Regulation (Amendment) Bill, 2024

The ruling BJP holds 46 seats in the 60-member House, with the NPP having five legislators, NCP three, PPA two, and three independent members.
