Delhi Police arrested Ruby Jain on Wednesday for allegedly directing racial slurs and derogatory remarks at three women from Arunachal Pradesh in south Delhi’s Malviya Nagar area.

The incident occurred on February 20 during a dispute over repair work at their rented accommodation. Police initially registered an FIR at Malviya Nagar Police Station under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita related to criminal intimidation, insulting women’s modesty, and promoting enmity between groups.

Following a review of video footage and witness statements confirming the use of racially charged language, authorities invoked the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The investigation, now overseen by an ACP-rank officer under senior supervision, also examines the involvement of a male co-accused named in the FIR.
