High-Level Central Delegation Visits Arunachal Pradesh To Review Progress Of Film And Television Institute (FTI)-Jote

Itanagar, Dec 11: A high-level central delegation visited Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday to review the progress of the Film and Television Institute (FTI) being set up at Jote, near Itanagar. The delegation, led by K Satish Nambudiripad, Director General of the Northeast Zone of the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, met with state officials to assess the development of the project.

The delegation held discussions with Arunachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Manish Gupta on various aspects of the project, including infrastructure requirements, logistical support, and administrative cooperation from the state government. They also explored the potential impact of the institute on local and regional development. Gupta assured the delegation of full cooperation from the state government to expedite the project.

FTI-Jote, which will be the third such institute in India after FTII-Pune and SRFTI-Kolkata, is expected to be a leading center for media and entertainment education. The institute will offer specialized programs to train aspiring filmmakers and media professionals, boosting the region’s media industry.

State Information and Public Relations Secretary Nyali Ete and Papum Pare Deputy Commissioner Bomji Jinken were also present during the meeting. Later, Nambudiripad, along with SRFTI-Kolkata Director Samiran Dutta and faculty member Bishnu Dev Halder, met with Arunachal Pradesh’s Director General of Police Anand Mohan.

The establishment of FTI-Jote reflects the Centre’s commitment to providing world-class education and empowering the youth of Northeast India in the media and entertainment sectors.
