IMD Issues Heavy Rain, Thunderstorm Alerts Across Arunachal Pradesh

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms across several districts of Arunachal Pradesh over the next few days, urging residents to stay cautious.

According to the IMD forecast, West Kameng, East Kameng, Papum Pare, Namsai, Lohit, Anjaw, East Siang, Upper Subansiri, Dibang Valley, and parts of Lower Subansiri are expected to experience heavy to very heavy showers with thunderstorms in the next 24 hours.

Papum Pare district has been placed under a red alert, indicating the need for immediate precautionary measures. East Kameng, Lower Subansiri, Upper Subansiri, Namsai, Lohit, and nearby districts are under an orange alert, signaling preparedness for adverse weather conditions.

Authorities have advised people to remain vigilant against potential risks such as landslides, waterlogging, and disruptions to transport.
