The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Arunachal Pradesh, warning of very heavy rainfall in the state on Friday. Heavy rain is expected at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh until Monday.

Besides Arunachal Pradesh, heavy rainfall is also predicted over other parts of the Northeast, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds are likely at isolated locations in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, and Sikkim.

Widespread rainfall is forecast across most parts of the country, except Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada, where conditions are expected to be dry.
