A militant of the NSCN-K (Niki Sumi) faction surrendered before security forces at Khonsa in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh, police said on Tuesday.
The surrendered individual has been identified as Wangjong Wangsu, 37, a resident of Longsom village in neighbouring Longding district. Police said he was a self-styled lieutenant of the outfit.
A loaded pistol was recovered from his possession at the time of surrender. Police said further investigation is underway.
