Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday outlined the achievements of various AtmaNirbhar Yojanas that are transforming the rural economy of the state. Taking to his official X handle, he stated that farmers, Self Help Groups (SHGs), and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) across Arunachal Pradesh are actively contributing to a silent revolution through these self-reliance schemes.
Under the AtmaNirbhar Krishi and Bagwani Yojanas, 1,011 SHGs, 24 FPOs, and 9,752 farmers have benefitted in the agriculture sector, while 17,500 farmers have been supported under the horticulture-focused Bagwani Yojana.
In the allied sectors, 2,309 individuals received support under the Pashu Palan Yojana, 2,160 under the Matsya Palan Yojana, and 3,080 under the Plantation Yojana.
Additionally, the Chief Minister announced a significant development under Mission Arun Himveer. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) to procure fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, and poultry directly from local farmers. The initiative aims to ensure market assurance, boost rural incomes, and strengthen self-reliance at the grassroots level.
