Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) has partnered with the North East Centre for Technology Application and Reach (NECTAR) to strengthen scientific beekeeping initiatives in Arunachal Pradesh.

The joint project, led by RGU’s Food Technology and Entomology departments, aims to integrate modern beekeeping technologies with traditional practices. Key components include setting up a honey processing and testing laboratory on the university campus and providing training to farmers on apiary management, post-harvest handling, branding, and marketing of bee products.

Registrar NT Rikam noted the crucial role of agriculture and allied sectors in Arunachal Pradesh’s economy, given the absence of large-scale industrial development in the state.
