Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Wednesday began a two-day visit to Mizoram to campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) candidate in the Dampa assembly by-election scheduled for November 11, party officials said.
After arriving in Aizawl, Rijiju, who holds the portfolios of Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, proceeded to West Phaileng in Mamit district to support BJP nominee Lalhmangaiha, according to Mizoram BJP media convener Johny Lalthanpuia.
As part of the campaign schedule, a public rally is planned at Reiek on Thursday before Rijiju returns to Delhi.
