The Assam Rifles celebrated its 191st Raising Day on 24 March 2026 at its headquarters in Shillong, marking over 190 years of service in securing India’s frontiers.
A Special Sainik Sammelan was held, promoting interaction between the Force’s leadership and personnel. During the event, awards and honours were presented to recognise exceptional courage and distinguished service. Recipients included the Bravest of the Brave awardee, COAS Unit Citation awardees, and GOC-in-C Eastern Command Unit Citation awardees. DGAR Commendation Cards were also distributed to deserving personnel.
The ceremony highlighted the Assam Rifles’ ongoing commitment to professionalism, operational excellence, and maintaining peace in challenging environments.
