Agartala, June 12, 2026: In a bid to strengthen aviation security and enhance preparedness against emerging aerial threats, Assam Rifles conducted a drone awareness demonstration for personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at the old terminal of Agartala Airport on June 11.
The session focused on the growing challenges posed by drone technology and the measures required to effectively detect, respond to and neutralize potential threats. CISF personnel were briefed on various aspects of drone operations, including identification of unmanned aerial vehicles, detection techniques, mitigation strategies and safe interdiction procedures.
The demonstration also covered the legal framework governing drone operations and highlighted practical measures for protecting critical aviation infrastructure from unauthorized aerial activities. Emphasis was placed on the importance of timely threat detection, coordinated response mechanisms and adherence to established security protocols.
