Assam Rifles, in a major anti-narcotics operation, seized 1.041 kg of Heroin No. 4 and 9.381 kg of Methamphetamine tablets at Melbuk near Zokhawthar on 26 July 2025. The seized drugs are estimated to be worth ₹40.05 crore in the illegal market.

The recovered contraband has been handed over to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for further legal proceedings.
