Assam Rifles foiled an attempt to smuggle contraband items in Meluri, Nagaland, recovering a significant quantity of illicit substances on 3 August 2025. The troops seized 192 bottles of illicit liquor, 4 grams of brown sugar, and 3 syringes, with an estimated value of Rs 44,000.

The seized items were handed over to Meluri Police Station for further investigation and necessary legal action.

Assam Rifles, in coordination with civil agencies, continues its efforts to counter narco-trafficking and ensure peace and security in the region.
