Assam Rifles seized 386 bags of illegal areca nuts, weighing 30,880 kilograms and valued at ₹1.81 crore, in an operation conducted in the general area of Mualkawi in Champhai district.

Six individuals were apprehended in connection with the seizure. The detained persons, along with the recovered contraband, were handed over to the Customs Preventive Force, Champhai, for further legal action.
