Agartala, September 12, 2025: In a significant breakthrough against drug trafficking, Assam Rifles in a joint operation with Tripura police officials seized a large consignment of narcotics at Teliamura Railway Station today.
Acting on specific intelligence, the joint team intercepted a woman traveling by train and recovered 300 grams of heroin concealed in 15 soap cases. The seized narcotics are estimated to be worth approximately ₹30 lakhs in the international market.
The arrested woman along with the recovered heroin has been handed over to the Police Department for further investigation and legal action.
Assam Rifles reaffirmed its commitment to combating drug trafficking and other illegal activities by continuing to work in close coordination with other enforcement agencies to ensure peace, security, and safety in the region.
