Assam Rilfes Destroys Illicit Ganja Cultivation Worth ₹14.5 Crore In Tripura

Agartala, January 29, 2026: Assam Rifles carried out a major anti-narcotics operation on Wednesday in general area Boxanagar, about 41 km south of Agartala, in Sepahijala District, Tripura.

Acting on specific intelligence, a column of Assam Rifles in coordination with Sepahijala District Police, Tripura State Rifles and Forest Department, launched a well-coordinated operation. During the operation, 1,45,000 illicit ganja saplings cultivated over an area of over 58 acres were destroyed.

The destroyed contraband is assessed to have a market value of approximately ₹14.5 crore, dealing a significant blow to narcotics network operating in the region.

This operation underscores the unwavering commitment of Assam Rifles towards eliminating drug menace and reinforcing the vision of a drug-free society.
