₹600 Lakh In Unclaimed Assets Settled In Two Assam Districts Under DEA Fund Campaign

Guwahati, Nov 15: As part of the nationwide “Your Money, Your Rights” public awareness campaign under the Depositor Education and Awareness (DEA) Fund, district-level camps were held in Kamrup Metro and Kamrup districts to help citizens claim unclaimed deposits, insurance dues, and mutual fund investments. The campaign will continue across Assam till 31 December 2025.

In the fourth phase of the initiative, a camp was organised at Ruptirtha Convergence 57 Auditorium, Asom Academy, Chandmari, Kamrup (Metro) by the Lead Bank (UCO Bank) under the guidance of the District Collector and the State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC), Assam. A similar camp was held at Yuva Vikash Kendra, Amingaon, in Kamrup district.

During the Guwahati camp, unclaimed assets amounting to ₹511.05 lakh were settled for 327 depositors. In Amingaon, 177 accounts amounting to ₹89.59 lakh were settled. Assistance counters were set up at both venues to provide verification, KYC support, and claim facilitation through participating banks and financial institutions.

The Guwahati event was attended by Kamrup Metro Zila Parishad Chairperson Mitali Kalita, District Development Commissioner Parijat Bhuyan, and representatives from RBI, SLBC Assam, LIC, and other stakeholders. In Amingaon, RBI LDO Sumana Roy and bank officials from various branches participated in the camp.
