Guwahati, May 12: Assam Police arrested two individuals and seized 10,000 YABA tablets, valued at ₹2 crore, from the Sadarashi area of Sribhumi. The operation was part of the state’s ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking.

Authorities confirmed that the arrested individuals are suspected of being involved in the illegal drug trade. The drug haul is a significant step in the state’s efforts to combat narcotics-related issues.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma commended the Sribhumi police for their successful operation. In a post on social media, he reiterated the state government’s commitment to the #AssamAgainstDrugs initiative.

This comes after another major drug bust in Cachar district last week, where police seized heroin and opium worth ₹4.5 crore and arrested two individuals.
