Guwahati, Jan 3: A 5.0 magnitude earthquake struck Assam and other northeastern states at 10:02 AM on Friday. The tremor originated in Myanmar, with the US Geological Survey confirming the epicenter’s location.

The earthquake caused panic in several areas, including Guwahati and districts in the eastern, central, and southern parts of Assam, as residents rushed out of their homes.

There have been no reports of casualties, injuries, or significant property damage at this time.
