AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has demanded action against the Assam unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party for releasing an AI-generated video that he described as “defamatory” and “genocidal.”

The video, titled Assam without BJP, depicts Muslims as illegal encroachers taking over public spaces and suggests a Muslim-majority future for the state if the BJP did not exist. It also features opposition leaders Rahul Gandhi and Gaurav Gogoi, reportedly linking the Congress party to Pakistan.

Owaisi said the video reflects a campaign driven by “Hindutva ideology” aimed at instilling fear and marginalising Muslims, adding that such content goes beyond poll propaganda and targets the presence of an entire community in India.

Citing the Patna High Court’s recent order to remove an AI video showing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his mother on defamation grounds, Owaisi urged authorities to apply the same principle in this case and take strict action against those responsible for producing and circulating the video.
